Redefining Private Equity
Meet the Team
Founder and Managing Partner
Scott has extensive experience in private equity investments. Prior to starting 1719 Partners, he founded Hadley Capital, a private equity firm based in Chicago with offices in Nashville and Dallas. Throughout his 25 years at Hadley Capital, Scott helped more than 20 small companies succeed and allocated more than $200 million of capital towards companies’ growth.
But even with this success, Scott knew something was missing. His experience managing committed capital funds revealed opportunities typical private equity firms miss out on. At his previous firm, the Funds are forced to sell all companies due to the finite fund structure— companies that had more growth to look forward to. By selling, they were giving this upside to the new owners.
This experience inspired a new idea: to build a firm without the constraints of predetermined and mandatory investment timelines, but instead make open-ended investments. Now company owners and investors can enjoy growth without limits.
Scott received his BA from Duke University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is an instrument rated private pilot, likes skiing, spending time with family, and harvesting honey from his own beehives.
