Giving a new answer to “Why Private Equity”
To many company owners, “why private equity” is a loaded question. Our answer might surprise you.
Private equity comes with negative stereotypes: buying a company just to prepare it for a later sale, and prioritizing making a quick profit over long-term company health. It is no wonder those considering selling their companies are suspicious of private equity firms and ask the question, “why private equity?”. But what if there was a better way? What if there was a way to eliminate pressure to make a quick profit, and a way to always put the company first?
We made that vision a reality by removing the predetermined investment timeline. Under this model, long-term success becomes the goal, and making a short-term profit at the company’s expense helps no one. That’s why our first principle is to do no harm to our companies, and that’s why what is in our companies’ best interest is also in our best interest. That shared vision is what allows us to be committed long-term growth partners.
Our answer to “why private equity” is because with our approach, everyone connected to the company enjoys continuous growth: the employees, the previous owners, and the investors. And without a set investment timeline, this growth has no limits.
We invest our own finances and serve as active advisors to the companies we work with. Our goal is to support management to help the business be the best it can be, not control your company to meet our own objectives.
Our philosophy isn’t just something abstract. We live it, every day, in each decision we make.
Our first priority is to do no harm. This means treating everyone involved in each endeavor with respect, honesty, and integrity— from company owners, to the employees, to the investors. We believe in the companies we buy, and the first step toward growth is protecting what is already working.
All companies rest on a stool with three legs: the owners, the employees, and the customers. In order for a company to be strong, all legs of the stool must be strong. Our mission is to make sure no leg gets forgotten, from employee satisfaction to customer retention. This keeps businesses resilient and prepared for growth.
